The fabric manipulation is a bridge between visual arts and applied arts. The history of this art dates back to the 1950's and after World War II, when artists presented the most spectacular designs of their special and artistic fabrics.
This art goes beyond stitching and sewing; the art of reconstructing the fiber, thread, and fabric as well as reforming the commercial features which is done by stitching, intertwining, burning, splashing color, dying with uncommon materials, pleating, cementing and totally changing the fabric into something new.
This exhibition represents art pieces of junior artists supervised by Forouzan Shahkoopah to display their perception and sense of what they have learnt from manipulation. They are inspired by both nature and human and have derived their interpretation as "fiber art".
