ماینور وایت، از عکاسان دهه 50 میلادی آمریکا از آلفرد اِستیگلیتس نقل‌قول می‌کند که «اِستیگلیتس چیزی درباره عکاسی گفته است که نادیدنی را قابل‌دیدن می‌سازد. سخن او فی‌نفسه نوعی قرنیه [equivalent] بود. وایت در اینجا برای رساندن منظورش واژه «قرنیه» را بکار می‌برد که اشاره به اصطلاحی است که آلفرد استیگلیتس برای بیان نظریه خاص خودش به کار می‌برد: بدین مضمون که در هنر، عناصر ناب و عینی مانند خط، شکل یا رنگ می‌توانند تعابیر دقیقی از تفکر انتزاعی و جلوه‌هایی از احساسات را بیان کنند. اعتقاد به وجود رابطه تمام‌عیار میان شکل‌ها در طبیعت ازیک‌طرف و تصورات ذهنی یا حالات عاطفی از طرف دیگر، اندیشه جدید را همواره به خود مشغول داشته است. «من عکس نمی‌گیرم... بلکه بینشی نسبت به زندگی دارم و گاه می‌کوشم قرنیه‌هایی به شکل عکس برای آن بیابم.» آلفرد استیگلیتس
با این ایده، هشت معمار داخلی مسائل همگانی دنیای پیرامونشان را با «قدرت دگردیسی دوربین» وصف کرده و آن‌گونه که قرنیه‌های دوربینشان درگیر دغدغه‌های روزمره زندگیشان است؛ عکس‌های خود را به نمایش بگذارند.

Minor White, a 50s American photographer, quotes Alfred Stieglitz as saying that "Stieglitz has said something about photography that makes it invisible. His speech was, in itself, a kind of corn. White uses the term "cornea" here to refer to a term that Alfred Stiglitz uses to express his own theory: that in art, pure and objective elements such as line, shape, or color can have precise interpretations of Express abstract thinking and expressions of emotion. The belief that there is a complete relation between forms in nature on the one hand and mental imagery or emotional states on the other has always engendered new thought. "I don't take pictures ... I have an insight into life, and sometimes I try to find corners in the form of photos." Alfred Stiglitz
With this idea, eight interior architects have described the universal issues of the world around them with the "power of camera transformation" and exhibited their photos as the corners of their cameras engage with the daily concerns of their lives.
