تا کنون به کاربردی بودن ضایعات در جهان مدرن توجه کردید؟
با دور ریختن کورکورانه بدون توجه به منابع تولید اشیاء و میراثی که با زباله آفرینی و تهی شدن منابع برای آیندگان به‌جا خواهیم گذاشت فقط با اندکی تأمل متوجه می‌شویم رفتارهای نامطلوب، عدم حساسیت نسبت به محیط‌زیست از حالت فردی خارج و تبدیل به مسئله اجتماعی شده است.
اگر تنها رویکرد خود را برای حفاظت از محیط‌زیست و فرهنگ بازیافت و استفاده مجدد در جامعه فراگیر کنیم متوجه خواهیم شد بسیاری از چیزهایی که ما به دور می‌اندازیم می‌توانند بازیابی شـده و مجدداً مورداستفاده قرار گیرند. با این طرز تفکر می‌توان منابـع طبیعی را ذخیره و حفظ نمود.
تعریف افراد از ضایعات با توجه به شغل و اشیاء اطرافشان، متفاوت است. این تفاوت دیدگاه باعث ایجاد رفتار متفاوت، مسئولانه و گاهی خلق آثار خلاقانه و کاربردی می‌شود که هریک راوی داستان خویشند. بین آگاهی و رفتارهای زیست‌محیطی رابطه مستقیمی وجود دارد و در عصر خودآگاهی محیط‌زیستی می‌توان زباله ضایعاتی و هنر را به روش‌های خلاقانه‌تری درهم‌آمیخته و دیدی متفاوت خلق نماید که ماحصل آن نگاه کاربردی به زوایای پنهان اشیاء و محیط اطراف است.
در این نمایشگاه علی علوی در قالب نگاهی دیگر، دانشجویان خود را به چالشی دعوت کرده تا با دیدی متفاوت آثاری خلاقانه را از ضایعات دورریختنی خلق کنند و با عبور از محدودیت‌ها و مقاومت‌های ذهنی از دیوار حائل بین طراحی صنعتی و هنر عبور کنند و آثاری را به نمایش بگذارند که بیانگر ارزش بخشیدن مجدد به فرسودگی در مکتب ضایعآرت است.

Have you ever noticed the usefulness of waste in the modern world?
By blindly throwing away the sources of objects and the heritage that we will leave for the future with creating waste and depletion of resources, we realize with just a little thought that undesirable behaviors, lack of sensitivity to the environment have become individual and become a global problem.
If we take our approach to protecting the environment and the culture of recycling and reuse in society, we will find that many of the things we throw away can be upcycled and reused. With this mentality, natural resources can be stored and preserved.
People's definition of waste varies according to the job and the objects around them. This difference of opinion leads to different, responsible behavior and sometimes to the creation of creative and practical works, each tells its own story. There is a direct relationship between environmental awareness and behaviors, and in the age of environmental self-awareness, waste and waste art can be combined in more creative ways to beget a different perspective, resulting in a practical look at the hidden angles of objects and the environment.
In this exhibition, Ali Alavi, invites his students to a challenge to beget creative works from disposable waste with a different perspective and to cross the barrier between mental design and art by crossing the limits and mental resistances in "the waste art style".
