TEHRAN – An exhibition of photos depicting scenes of daily life in Tanzania will open at Tehran’s Shalman Gallery on Friday

The photos were taken by Iranian photographer Besharat Bohluli for the exhibit titled “Maisha”, which means life in Swahili.
Bohluli has assembled the collection in her trip to Tanzania during March 2016.
“The photos highlight rural life, carrying pure African happiness, hardworking, coexistence and natural peacefulness, which are the basis of the Tanzanian’s lifestyle,” reads part of the statement of the exhibit.
“This nation, after hundreds of years of historical hardship, prefers to smile against the eyes of an alien photographer. This collection attempts to document this rural culture, the faces, movements, clothes, body states, and the generally green field of their nature,” it continues.
The exhibit will be running until August 2 in the gallery located at 27 Kavusi Alley, West Rudbar St., off Mirdamad Blvd.
