Benjamin Ball is a documentary photographer, writer, academic, and new media artist based in Wollongong, Australia. His work has been featured in publications in Europe, Indonesia, Colombia and Australia and his photography has been exhibited in Australia and South America.
His work provides an ongoing lens into the ways in which we live together in a difficult world. He is less interested in particular conflicts, or ‘Victims’, than he is in the ways in which trauma and resilience can help us understand the lives of those he photographs and – equally, and perhaps more importantly – the lives and those who look at the photographs.
